S T O P

I came across a method by Deepak Chopra. When you are getting emotionally upset and perhaps about to do or say something you'll regret.... S T O P.

S stands for stop. Close your mouth, don't say anything. Stop.
T stands for take 3 breaths. The number 3 is a magical number. Many things are broken down into 3.
O stands for observe how you are feeling. If you haven't calmed down, take 3 more breaths.
P stands for proceed with loving kindness and compassion.

Remember to STOP before you criticize, judge, or blame others or yourself. And proceed with loving kindness and compassion.
