We have a lot of beliefs about ourselves and others. A belief being a thought we've repeatedly thought until we finally think it's the truth.
It's so familiar we think it's the truth. The problem is that the beliefs that keep us unhappy or trapped in a particular habit are difficult to break down. But Byron Katie gives us four questions we can ask ourselves in an attempt to get to the truth. Here are two of them:
- Is it true?
- Is it really true?
"If I loose weight, I'll only gain it back." Is that true? Is it really true? The past doesn't have to define your future. "That person will never change." Is that true? Is that really true? Maybe what needs to happen is
we need to change our perception of that person so
we can see any changes.
So you get the gist of it. To learn more, I'll be teaching a class on Wednesday March 28th at Unity exploring how we can find peace in the midst of any situation. I'll be using her Loving What Is inquiry process.
