Making A Shift

Any change is difficult. We humans do not seem to make changes with ease. We like things the way they are even when they are not too good. It's sort of like the expression, "better the devil you know than the one you don't". However the only constant is change.

When a person retires they experience a big change. There is a grieving for the life they knew, even if it was stressful and demanding, it's what they knew, it was their normal. A vacuum is created, a new routine must be found, work acquaintances fade away and a new life unfolds.

It's a forward thinking opportunity. My husband just retired. The new journey begins, not just for him but for me as well.  Adjustments will be made and new joy will be found.
